People often ask how my background at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome led me behind the lens of a cinema camera. The answer lies in a single obsession: refined authenticity. To me, a wedding is not an event to be cataloged through a lens, but a living piece of art — an unscripted art film waiting to be unveiled.
My aesthetic vision stems from a rich tapestry of influences: illustration, painting, analog photography, and the timeless lines of vintage design. I don’t follow predefined scripts: my presence on set is quiet and unobtrusive, designed to give you complete freedom to just be yourselves.

Beyond weddings: film, music videos, and Sound Design
My directorial work goes beyond luxury weddings. I regularly direct short films and music videos — pure artistic projects that have won awards in Italy and abroad. This constant crossover with auteur cinema and the music industry brings a fresh, dynamic, and strictly editorial visual language to my wedding sets.
I grew up surrounded by music — from post-rock atmospheres to darkwave and electronic vibes. This culture of listening taught me that a film lives half through light and half through sound.
Every soundtrack in my films is a unique piece, tailored to the tempo of your breath, your laughter, and the words you exchange. To amplify this intimate narrative, I love introducing subtle inserts — or full dedicated extra sessions — shot on Super 8 film and VHS tapes.
My Inspirations
Timeless cinema
My visual universe feeds on cinema that doesn’t chase trends: the visceral physicality of Cronenberg, the lucid nightmares of Lynch, the surrealism of Buñuel; the visionary rigor of Bergman and Tarkovsky, the moral coolness of von Trier; the melancholic lightness of Fellini, Wes Anderson, and Pupi Avati; the subtle shadows of Polanski, Lanthimos, and Del Toro.
Yet my true home remains a specific era: 1950s American film noir, 1970s cinema, and the unrepeatable classic Italian comedies of that period. That is where I learned to love a rarefied, timeless atmosphere — film grain, suspended settings, light that is never perfect — which I now strive to bring back, in my own signature way, to every wedding film I create.
My Region
Roots in Salento, a gaze ready to travel
My roots and base are in Salento, in Lecce: a region that educated my eye through its sharp contrasts — the stillness of the countryside, the wind through ancient olive groves, the light sculpting baroque limestone, and village alleyways where Sunday aromas blend with timeless atmospheres.
These elements shaped my way of filming, an identity I express through the charm of Puglia’s historic masserias and the Itria Valley. Yet my perspective doesn’t end here: for stories that demand it, I travel to Italy’s most exclusive destinations — from Lake Como to Tuscany, from the Amalfi Coast to Sicily — and to sought-after international locations.
The Eye
Photography as part of my perspective
Although my tool is the motion camera, my eye was born photographic: years studying illustration, painting, and analog photography form the foundation of every frame I compose.

The name Mavis Films
The brand name is an intimate tribute to Mavis, my cat, who quietly oversees every editing session. Choosing me means welcoming a meticulous professional, a passionate artist, and a film strictly approved by a stern yet adorable feline critic.
